Who We Are

The Youth Sub-Committee consists of local agencies, city government, schools, police departments and youth organizations. The current members are:
ABC Literacy Program—AmeriCorps
City of Sterling
Illinois State Rep. Jerry Mitchell’s Office
NICIL (Northwestern Illinois Center for Independent Living)
Sinnissippi Centers, Inc.
Sterling Police Department
Sterling School District #5
Teen Action Zone

Goals

The Youth Sub-Committee offers a time for networking and sharing ideas. The committee also has set for itself four goals to accomplish through the year.
    • To assess the needs of Whiteside County youth and identify needs and math/create resources.
    • Increase awareness of cultural variations among youth and families.
    • To increase the representation of schools, police, etc., from Whiteside County to the Whiteside County Healthier Communities Partnership, specifically the Youth Sub-Committee.
    • To provide a Teen Pregnancy Awareness program/workshop to interested communities schools in Whiteside County.
