Seasonal Flu vaccine available weekdays at Health Dept.

Seasonal Flu Vaccine is available at the Whiteside County Health Department, 1300 W. Second St., Rock Falls, on a walk-in at its Rock Falls office.

Flu shots will be given on a walk-in basis from 8 a.m. to Noon and 1 to 4 p.m. Mondays through Fridays. No appointments are necessary.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends everyone over age 6 months receives the flu shot.

Seasonal flu shots will cost $30, with shots for children ages 6 months to 18 years old priced at $10. The cost of the flu shot is payable by cash or check. Medicare Part B and Medicaid will be billed if a Medicare or Medicaid card is shown at the time of visit.

Children 6 months to 8 years old need to have two flu shots if they have never received the flu vaccine before. Children 9 years old and younger who have received two last year only need one shot this year.
