Septic Systems in Illinois

Many homeowners in Illinois have on-site septic systems to treat their
wastewater. Duane Friend and John Church, both U of I Extension Natural
Resource Educators, have collaborated with the Illinois Soil Classifiers
Association, the Illinois EPA, Illinois Department of Public Health, and
colleagues from Kendall, Pike and Jersey County Health Departments to
create the new website Septic Systems in Illinois.

It provides information about various treatment systems and how they
work; how to keep a septic system working properly; how to obtain a
National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System permit; and how to check
out septic systems before buying or selling a house.

This is an excellent reference and please share it with others. You can
