Whiteside County Health Department
EMERGENCY VOLUNTEERS

Whiteside County Health Department relies on volunteers for many of its services offered during a large-immunization clinic or other emergency event.

We would like to encourage men, women and young adults who have the integrity and character to help others, to consider joining the Whiteside County Health Department Volunteer Team.

Your services will not be required on a daily basis, but when the time comes, we really need your help. If you are a medical professional, or a former medical professional who still has current certification training, you can join our volunteer team through Illinois Helps.

These volunteers may include doctors, nurses, dentists, veterinarians, pharmacists, chiropractors, physician’s assistants, nurse practitioners, emergency medical technicians, paramedics, lab technicians, physical therapists, respiratory therapists, among other professions.

There are many other duties at the clinic sites and off location, all of which are critical to the success of the clinic goals. Volunteer roles may include greeters, traffic controllers, translators, filers, stockers, runners, amateur radio operators, bus drivers, custodians, maintenance, and food/drink providers.

Most of the time, people will be asked to give no more than four hours per day, depending on the number of volunteers available.

The duties involving medication and patient medical evaluations will be assigned to medically trained volunteers.
