Eight out of 10 seats are not installed correctly

The above statement is not for shock value. It's the truth.

Child safety seats installed incorrectly, or a seat not appropriate for a child's weight or height, are not being used properly.

If you live in Whiteside County, and are unsure if your child safety seat is installed correctly, contact Whiteside County Health Department at (815) 626-2230 and ask for Nancy. Appointments will be taken.

Whiteside County Health Department also has a limited number of child safety seats available to Whiteside County residents, thanks to funding from Illinois Department of Transportation. The Health Department has received a grant from IDOT for the past three years.
