New Opening - Environmental Health Sanitarian

Job Opening:           Environmental Health Sanitarian       

Reports to:               Director of Environmental Health

Hours:                       Full time, 75 hours/pay period

General Summary of Duties:

The Environmental Health Sanitarian will assist the Director of Environmental Health with the West Nile Program, Tanning and Body Art Program and property maintenance/nuisance complaints. The Sanitarian will review and approve Cottage Food applications, perform low risk facility inspections, oversee the Non-Community Well Program, complete landfill inspections weekly and assist in basic office duties.


  • High school diploma or equivalent, required
  • Associates degree in physical science or a combination of three (3) college credit hours in math and six (6) college credit hours in physical, chemical or biological science, required
  • Must have valid driver’s license and be able to drive day or night

Qualities sought:

Must have a positive attitude, strong, steady work ethic, ability to maintain confidentiality, and ability to multi-task and prioritize.  Must be detail oriented, and demonstrate the ability to follow established processes.
